WW1 Day

Following an invite from The Western Front Association, the 17th Pals’ Band were invited to perform during a First World War Open Day at Vestry House Museum in Walthamstow on Saturday the 15th September 2018 and was to mark the end of the First World War. The band marched from Orford Road, E17, around past St Mary’s Church and ending up at Vestry House Museum. Marches played included Bridlington, Shamrock and Georgia. Unveiling of a Memorial Plaque

The 17th Pals’ Battalion Band were approached by The Western Front Association for buglers to play during the unveiling of a memorial plaque in Walthamstow, to commemorate the deaths of three Fireguards during bombing in WW2. During WW2 the Government passed an act stating that due to the “Blitz”, all areas of London should form Fire protection parties.
